5 Bhut Jolokia / Ghost Pepper Varieties

Here’s a picture of 5 bhut jolokia varieties I’m growing this year. Starting with red and moving clockwise: red bhuts, peach bhuts, chocolate bhuts, yellow bhuts and caramel bhuts.

Hi pepperseed, I love growing Naga morich, I got my seeds from pods brought by my hubby’s relative over from Bangladesh. I ended up with 3 different types. Dark green with a mainly smooth skin, very pale bumpy skin, and bumpy skin but mid green. I was interested in your blog especially in the yellow bhut. I am growing the chocolate bhut, and notice it is much more elongated with distinctly wrinkled bumpy skin and extreme heat. Can you advise me where to get yellow bhut seeds.

I grew some ghost peppers this year, but only one grew. I live in California, is that the reason that they didn’t grow?

i have a plant that was supposed to be ghost chili. It looks just like the red ones in your picture -only five times smaller. when one was very small, about two centimeters i tasted it ( still green) it wasnt very hot , maybe a little less than a habanero. i thought they were getting bigger, but they stopped in growth and two days later two had turned orange/red. can they continue to grow after they have turned red? If not, is it not a ghost or is it some kind of mini variety? Could it be because it was planted quite late in the season, the plant is only about 30 centimeters?
